(Disaster Response)2022

😇

KZN floods: we had to respond quick because alot of people were affected and it was challenging because we constantly had to get alot of people to assist and assign people to different areas to perform different duties With all our troubles, frictions and challenges this is indeed an incredible country where the spirit of Ubuntu always takes centre stage and reigns supreme. Our teams are busy with on site assessments identifying areas of severe damage and to avoid duplication. Community members are also providing feedback. as to how much progress we are making and to my count this KZN flood we had 3 Bodies that were found as a result of The water sweeping them away and our criteria was than to ensure that roads are cleared, bridges are also cleared as well as drainage but public infrasturucture that was affected and damaged because of the flooding well that remains the Governments responsibility, roads are damaged so travelling to and from the affected areas also posses a challenge retaining walls collapsed with people trapped underneath, cars have been washed away, debris and trees blocking roads, people can't get to work, health facilities had to reduce services, religious institutions as well as many homes have been damaged, electrical infrastructure is non-functional aggravating load shedding, streams have become raging rivers, people have lost their lives. its indeed a terrible and horrific encounter for the people in the low areas of KZN and we as mphoyabathofoundation are doing the best we can.

SUPPORT FOR FEEDING CENTRES

hunger affiliation: with this one mostly we prefer to tackle centers that are already existing and are also NPO'S like mostly people that are suffering from malnutrition and so forth Scholars lack sufficient nutrition to aid their learning process and as they are unable to focus during lesson time, face an additional burden of repeating grades and, in due course, dropping out of school in some instances. mostly this for those Organizations who really cant make ends meet. the aim is to ensure that people get relief and that they should not go without basic things such as food and since running our own scheme felt a-bit more limiting we now support community based organizations that run feeding schemes in communities and at schools.

healthcare for all

because we believe that all lives matter we as mphoyabathofoundations(gift of the people) take it upon ourselves to ensure that irrespective of what is happening around us we are always ready to step in be it when a disaster happens or when we generally have to step in and help people that do not have the capabilities to help themselves by ensuring that we deliver emergency medical supplies, equipment and support to those rendered helpless in the face of natural disaster, war and conflict, poverty and disease.

Having assessed needs, we are able to call on a dedicated team of highly skilled and diverse medical specialists, rapidly deploying them to points of concern around the world to lend support to those affected by any form of humanitarian emergency.

education

education is important and very vital in ensuring that one is developed as a human being also to try and balance the scales of the past education is free however most people are start affected and often have to learn in poor or extreme conditions that make it nearly impossible to get a proper education basic things like schools supplies they lack or do not have access to such things and although many fought a great fight to try and redress the imbalances of the aparteid era a great deal of people still suffer and the scales still remain a bit tilted countries such as Somalia for instance have not balanced the scales and still suffer a huge deal. It is every child's right to proper education, regardless of their socio-economic circumstances. therefore we as mphoyabathofoundation provide school supplies to ensure that young people in Syria get the proper education they deserve

HELP RESTORE MALAWI FROM AN UNFORSEEN CYCLONE(FREDDY)

mphoyabatho foundation has taken it upon themselves to go and assist Malawi with a disaster that struck them already we have 5 million which we are going to aid towards restoration and assisting Malawi in their current situation which is cyclone Freddy, alot of people lost their lives as well as housing.

R5 million aid package in Malawi following Cyclone Freddy.

Cyclone Freddy struck Malawi earlier this week causing havoc in much the same districts affected by Cyclone Ana in January last year. Thousands of houses, roads, schools, infrastructure and agricultural lands have been damaged or destroyed. District Councils have not yet accessed all areas but as of yesterday 324 people have died, 774 have been injured, 201 are missing, 501 775 affected and 183 158 displaced. The Malawi Government has established 317 camps in the 12 districts and city councils affected therefore we as mphoyabatho foundation are going to step in and assist with everything that we have got our hands, and our resources which include healthcare, food aids, the works so we plan to be there as early as tomorrow morning as most of the team and specialists are set to be flying out today.

the teams has split into groups of 3 each consisting of 100 people excluding doctors, specialists, amongst the 300 people that have been sent out one group will target a different area and will spread out in the areas that were mostly affected
group 1( will be assisting with the food aids as well as any special attention that might be needed to patients as most infrastructure was damaged therefore most people are gathered in three larges spaces.

group 2 will join the search party to try and see if there are any people still out there that might need emergency medical attention as most people are trapped under collapsed infrasture

group 3 will be cooking and preparing all the things needed to harbour and assist the people that were affected at large  by Cyclone Freddy

this is to take place immediately as mphoyabatho foundation responds to the disaster of Malawi
(2023/08/27)
