Our team is currently visiting hospitals in the Gaza Strip to deliver essential medical assistance to individuals injured in the ongoing escalation. There have been thousands of reported fatalities and people wounded, with these numbers expected to rise.


Hospitals are facing critical shortages of beds, medical supplies, and medicines due to the high number of casualties. Immediate requirements include medicines, consumables, medical equipment, transport to hospital, fuel for hospital generators, hygiene kits, clothing, towels for patients, food parcels for families of the deceased and those in distress, and purchase and delivery of chronic medication.


Mphoyabatho  has already released funding in Gaza and has approached the companies we deal with regularly to purchase these essential items.


We will cover transport costs and any incidental expenses associated with the saving of lives and bringing relief to a battered nation.


Civilians are also given vouchers to purchase food and non-food items where available.

Our staff in Syria and Turkey awoke to a terrifying tremor at 04h10 today, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck various villages and cities in both Turkey and Syria. Our teams rapidly evacuated the children from our Bayt Kareem Child Care Centre in Gaziantep, Turkey, whilst in Darkoush, Syria, our medical teams were on full alert to respond. The casualties started arriving with 25 deceased and 100+ injured and they are pouring in. The casualties in both countries are expected to increase exponentially. Freezing cold, rain and snow are hampering search and rescue efforts.

Mphoyabatho  only responds if a call is made by the affected country for international assistance. Not only has the call been made but we have been contacted directly by the Turkish Ambassador to South Africa, Aysegul Kandas, and by the Consul General in Cape Town, Sinan Yesildag, to assist in this huge disaster. They will facilitate all the arrangements in Turkey. Our SA Ambassador to Turkey, Dipou Letsatsi-Duba has also requested our intervention. Currently, our team members including Dr Naeem Kathrada and Colin Deiner, Head of WC Provincial Disaster are in meeting with the Turkish Consul General and the GM of Turkish Airlines, Muhammed Soner Aydin. We will be meeting the Turkish Ambassador and DIRCO later today. Search and rescue, and medical teams with specialised equipment are already on standby to fly out by latest tomorrow. Turkish Airlines will facilitate the transport.Medical supplies, equipment, consumables, tents, blankets, food and other humanitarian aid will be purchased in Turkey. Quality education is achieved by a variety of elements including infrastructure, personnel, learning material and overall environment. The poor are worst affected by the poor state of public schools in South Africa and for a number of reasons slip through the cracks and fail to complete their education. The cycle of poverty perpetuates, therefore, itself. 

Mphoyabatho is committed to improving education in South Africa through its bursaries, school infrastructure interventions. The learners are hungry for an education which means that half the battles is won. Through the generosity of our donors, we have made a meaningful and positives impact on learner throughout South Africa by reaching schools in remote communities.  So the aim is to mainly ensure that all children have been given the opportunity to grown and make something out of themselves regardless of the circumstances that life throws at them so by making this initiative the aim is to also redress the imbalances of the past where people were not distributed resources equally.

In that regard we provide or grant the following

The reality, regrettably, is that massive numbers of schools, particularly in rural areas, are significantly under-resourced. The result of inferior educational institutions is that the teaching and absorption of knowledge becomes exponentially more difficult.

This is a common problem and one so massive that Governments are unable alone to impact on school upgrades as rapidly as is necessary.

In light of this untenable situation, we contribute towards the creation of an environment conducive to the improved education of the disadvantaged. So every month we go to different areas especially those who came from disadvantaged backgrounds and those who cannot be afforded the opportunity to make something out of themselves so we try to empower them by all means by providing bursaries that will allow children to empower  themselves so this month we will be heading to Gaza since most our current focus is solely on them 

As of 2023/10/27 we will be flying out to Gaza to begin the distribution and selection of provision of Educational resources.



. HIV & AIDS(POLICY FOR MPHOYABATHOFOUNDATION)

The aim is to ensure a working environment in which HIV employees are protected from unfair discrimination and stigmatization. We also wish to prevent fear and disruption among employees and ensure maximum stability and productivity among employees.

Mphoyabatho will ensure that employees living with HIV/Aids are treated with compassion and understanding, as would employees with any other life-threatening disease. We recognize HIV/Aids is not transmitted through casual contact but will ensure a safe working environment.

 

                                                                                                                                                     

Mphoyabatho  does not oblige but encourages that HIV-infected employees must report their status privately to Human Resources to enable the organization to respond appropriately to any occurrence of a mishap due to this condition. We grant that HIV-infected employees have a right to not disclose their status to other employees, unless an incident that could be of risk to the health of everyone occurs. Mphoyabatho will not terminate an employee because of their HIV condition and will not refuse employment of anyone because of their HIV or any other sickness. Employees who are sick will retain their jobs as long they meet the job requirements; therefore, an employee who becomes too ill to work will be treated in accordance with the incapacity provisions of the

Labour Relations Act of South Africa.

All statutory appointments will be implemented in accordance with the Act. Roles and responsibilities will be outlined as per the appointment and requirements.

This procedure is subject to annual review or whenever it is necessary for Mphoyabatho foundation is  to ensure that it is aligned to prevailing resolutions, regulations, and market conditions.

. MONITORING AND EVALUATION

The Health and Safety Committee, through guidance from Human Resources, will play monitoring and evaluation role to determine whether the procedure provisions are put in place within mphoyabatho foundation since the primary foundation of our NGO is to give support to people who are affected by unforeseen circumstances that occur when disaster strikes so because we deal with a lot of people with different health issues are which are mostly from disadvantages backgrounds.

 ASPECTS WE FOCUS ON WHEN DEALING WITH REPUTATION MANAGEMENT 

This process is simply about focusing and changing the online narrative, this is to monitor what people are saying about your business or your organization. Remember this NGO was formed as a disaster relief response. Therefore, this means how we deal with threats that we normally receive about people telling us to shut down and so forth. Because believe it or not people actually still believe that we somehow benefit financially from this NGO.

 

Firstly: monitor the online reputation because lately that is where the wildfire spreads.

Secondly: build a reputation management action plan, where we discuss what will happen should the reputation be damaged.

Thirdly: handle negative comments delicately.

Lastly; build on the positive comments and the reviews.
